CONSECRATION OF A JOSS-HOUSE.

By John Cope Garnett.

A brick building about to be dedicated to Chang Kow Choo Szee—the spelling is mine, but does not at all express the nasal qualities of this divinity—had just been completed, and looked gaudy in its adornments of brilliant colours and fresh paint.

The temple is a neat and substantia brick building, being about twenty-five feet deep by fourteen or fifteen feet frontage.
